About the Role

As the Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you’ll be instrumental in delivering a range of strategic and operational cyber initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the implementation of key initiatives aligned with the organisation’s cyber security strategy
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks and regulations, including AESCSF, VPDSS, NIST, and ISO 27001
  • Conducting risk assessments, audits, and security reviews across IT systems and applications
  • Supporting the development and roll-out of policies, procedures, and governance controls
  • Advising business and technology teams on security best practices and requirements
  • Responding to and managing cyber incidents in collaboration with third-party providers
  • Promoting cyber awareness across the organisation through education and refresher initiatives
  • Staying ahead of the evolving threat landscape and providing insights to senior leadership

About You

We’re seeking a cyber generalist – someone comfortable navigating both technical detail and governance. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A degree in Cyber Security, IT, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience as a Cyber Security Analyst, ideally within the Australian energy or government organisations
  • Familiarity with compliance standards including AESCSF, VPDSS, ISO 27001, and NIST
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, threat detection, and incident response
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive mindset and ability to operate independently in a fast-evolving environment

Highly Regarded:

  • Exposure to OT or SCADA environments
  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH
