Davidson’s enduring commitment to Yalari
Empowering Indigenous youth through education
Davidson has a longstanding and deep-rooted partnership with Yalari, having been involved since 2011.
Yalari is dedicated to providing quality education opportunities to Indigenous children from regional and remote communities across Australia. This partnership is more than just a collaboration—it reflects Davidson’s core value of ‘Beyond Now,’ emphasising our commitment to long-term impact and sustainable change.
At the heart of this partnership is Davidson’s Executive Director, Bruce Davidson, who serves as the Chairman of Yalari. His leadership has guided Yalari’s strategic direction, ensuring the organisation stays true to its mission of empowering Indigenous youth through education. This leadership is not just about governance; it extends to hands-on involvement, from mentoring Yalari’s alums and working with the leadership team to attending Regional Council meetings across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria.
Davidson’s support for Yalari is multifaceted. Beyond financial contributions, our team members actively participate in Yalari’s initiatives, including mentoring alums, attending school workshops, working on branding and fundraising efforts, and facilitating introductions to corporate and philanthropic donors, further bolstering the organisation’s support network.
Over the past year, the value of time invested by the Davidson team in Yalari amounts to $542,000. Our staff also contributes to Yalari through a workplace giving program, further strengthening the relationship.
In addition to our direct contributions, Davidson has played a key role in organising and supporting fundraising events. From sourcing auction items for Yalari’s Brisbane fundraising dinner to providing office space in Melbourne for Regional Council meetings, Davidson’s involvement is comprehensive and ongoing. We also cover flights and accommodation for Bruce Davidson when he travels to support Yalari’s initiatives, amounting to $19,727 in the past year. The impact of this partnership is profound. By investing in the education of Indigenous youth, Davidson is supporting Yalari to build a foundation for future success and empowerment. This enduring commitment reflects our belief that meaningful change requires sustained effort, and it underscores our dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of Indigenous Australians. Through our partnership with Yalari, Davidson is not just supporting education - we are helping to shape the leaders of tomorrow. This collaboration is a shining example of how our ‘Beyond Now’ philosophy and our commitment to social responsibility come together to create lasting, impactful change.
