Business Analyst – IT/OT & GIS Projects
Melbourne | 12-Month Day Rate Contract | Asset Knowledge & Technology
We’re working with a well-known Melbourne-based organisation to recruit a
Business Analyst
to join their IT/OT team
on a 12-month day rate contract.
This role will support a range of GIS uplift and asset management initiatives, and play a key role in enabling technology-led improvements across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate workshops and work closely with stakeholders to define business needs, success measures, and minimum viable solutions
- Capture and manage detailed business requirements and translate them into clear documentation
- Decompose larger initiatives into epics, stories, and tasks using Agile frameworks
- Support the development of business cases and assist in evaluating technology options and vendor solutions
- Lead or contribute to product evaluations, process mapping, and RFP activities
- Collaborate with technical and delivery teams to manage dependencies and support planning and prioritisation
- Provide input into testing processes and support business change activities to ensure effective delivery and adoption
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve business analysis practices, tools, and frameworks
What You’ll Bring
- Experience as a Business Analysis experience across IT and/or Operational Technology projects
- Exposure to utilities, GIS, or asset management environments is highly desirable
- Strong skills in process mapping, documentation, and stakeholder engagement
- Proven experience working in complex and sometimes ambiguous project environments
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and communicate across all levels
- Confident using Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and a hands-on approach to delivery
- Experience supporting testing and change management activities is an advantage
