About the Company
Davidson is partnering with a Melbourne based utilities company organisation who is embarking on a key cloud transformation initiative, transitioning from an ageing SAP and Business Objects software legacy to a modern, scalable cloud-based environment. As part of this journey, they require a business analyst to support system auditing, stakeholder engagement, and the decommissioning of legacy platforms.
About the Role
As a business analyst, you will play a crucial role in assessing the current system landscape, identifying dependencies, and supporting the transition to the cloud. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting a system stocktake to determine existing applications and data usage
- Engaging with business stakeholders to validate system dependencies and understand how information is consumed
- Leading a scoping exercise for the decommissioning of SAP
- Collaborating with IT teams to understand the technology footprint
- Coordinating with external vendors, including SAP, to facilitate a smooth transition
- Supporting change management initiatives for long-standing users adapting to the new environment
- Analysing and validating large datasets to ensure accurate migration and business continuity
About You
Extensive data experience is essential for this role, as you will be working with large datasets, legacy systems, and cloud migration processes.
Mandatory skills and experience:
- Proven experience as a business analyst in a data-driven environment
- Strong SQL skills to extract, analyse, and validate data
- Deep understanding of data structures, reporting tools, and database management
- Ability to perform system audits and document findings
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills – many users have been in place for decades and need guidance through the transition
- Exposure to change management and process improvement
- Experience in the utilities sector is highly desireable.
