System Administrators / Engineers - Multiple positions

About the Company

Davidson Technology are working with a large Federal Government Authority to secure multiple System Administrators and System Engineers across Australia ranging from a junior to a senior level of expertise.




About the Roles

As a System Administrator, you’ll be responsible for performing routine hardware and software installations in line with agency and organisational policies. You will provide expert guidance to colleagues to optimise asset use and improve installation services, while designing and implementing solutions for non-routine issues. You will lead installation projects, ensure effective stakeholder communication, and collaborate closely with team members to support project goals and maintain strong working relationships.



As a System Engineer you’ll be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable and sustainable systems. You will develop systems engineering documentation, system designs, maintenance plans, and configuration management plans to ensure structured implementation. Your role includes managing project plans, tracking progress using ticketing systems, and contributing to project timelines. You will also deploy hosting platforms, manage source code with version control, and use automation to ensure consistency across platforms while demonstrating expertise in analysing complex system engineering issues, you identify and recommend solutions. You will engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, provide architectural guidance, and deliver presentations as well as document system designs, track project delivery, resolve technical issues, and contribute to continuous improvement by refining procedures.




About You

As a System Administrator you’ll possess a degree in Computer Science or a related field and expertise in operating systems, networking, database management, and security protocols. This includes installing, repairing, and maintaining network systems to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, you’ll have proficiency in programming languages, enabling you to automate tasks, troubleshoot issues, and enhance system efficiency.




As a Systems Engineer you’ll possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, software engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field and specialise in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX-based environments, ensuring system reliability and performance.

You’ll have strong programming skills to develop solutions for automation and optimisation. Your expertise includes system monitoring to maintain optimal performance and working with automation software to streamline processes. Additionally, understanding cloud platforms is a valuable asset, enabling efficient cloud-based system management.




Applicants MUST be Australian Citizens and hold an active security clearance NV1 or above




The Benefits

You will be offered an excellent daily rate on initial contracts ranging from 12 – 15-months with the option for further extensions and will be based in one of the agencies offices across Australia.
