Davidson Technology are working with a large Federal Government Authority to secure multiple Software Developers across Australia ranging from a junior to a senior level of expertise.




About the Roles

As a Software Developer you’ll be responsible for designing, building, integrating, and documenting software solutions that meet business requirements. You’ll engage with business and product owners to clarify user needs using agile development methods, while supporting and enhancing automation capabilities for existing systems. You will be proficient in integrating Commercial and Government Off-The-Shelf software, implementing automated testing, and troubleshooting system issues, whilst contributing to continuous improvement by developing technical documentation, enhancing procedures, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies.



As a Senior Software Developer you’ll be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing software capabilities to ensure application availability, security, and quality through rigorous testing and reviews. You will engage with business and product owners to refine user requirements using agile methodologies, documents technical processes, and promote knowledge sharing within the team. You’ll provide guidance to uplift team capabilities, contribute to design reviews, and support automation by recommending and integrating new tools and structures aligned with business needs, including COTS and GOTS software, using Agile Software Development Methodology (ASDM).




About You

As a proficient Software Developer, you’ll demonstrate experience in development languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, Java Messaging Service, JavaScript/TypeScript, J2EE, RESTful web services, Django, and Ruby. You will be skilled in container orchestration with Kubernetes and OpenShift, and experienced in automation tools like Puppet, Ansible, and Docker. Additionally, you will possess strong expertise in front-end development using React.




As a Senior Software Developer, you’ll possess a degree in Computer Science or a related field, experience in Java development, with additional proficiency in Python and other scripting languages. You’ll be skilled in developing and deploying software within Linux/UNIX environments, with strong competence in automation and deployment tools whilst experience in the cyber security domain is highly regarded, along with versatility in other programming languages such as .NET.

The Benefits

You will be offered an excellent daily rate on initial contracts ranging from 12 – 15-months with the option for further extensions and will be based in one of the agencies offices across Australia.
