Davidson Technology are working with an integral Queensland State Government Department to secure a Principal Business Analyst on a contract until 30th June 2025
About the Role
The Business Analyst plays a significant role in ensuring that the next release of a bespoke computer system aligns with business requirements and optimises organisational processes. The Case Management system improves information sharing internally and collaboration with young people, families, carers and services for Queensland Government.
Responsibilities
- To facilitate the integration the next release (R3) of the bespoke system that supports business objectives and enhances productivity.
- To liaise with stakeholders to ensure that the system functionalities meet end-user needs.
- To ensure the delivery of a solution that is in line with government policies, budgetary constraints, and project timelines.
- Analyse and synthesise information gathered to create a clear set of business processes / practice flows for the new system.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure that business analysis activities align with project goals and timelines.
- Participate in project planning sessions and provide business analysis expertise to inform project decision-making.
- Assist with the prioritisation of project deliverables and features based on business impact
- Document and map current state and required future state processes
- Make recommendations including regarding potential inclusions in communications
- Contribute to the development of training materials and documentation that describe new processes and features.
- Establishes mechanisms for handover to business as usual
About You
- A high level of proficiency in business analysis techniques and tools.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to solve complex issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile or PRINCE2
Highly desirable
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, information systems, or computer science.
- Industry-recognised certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis)
