This role is a full time permanent opportunity, working on a hybrid model (Max 3 days office).
About the Role
The OT Analytics Specialists responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the Aveva PI (aka OSI PI) System solutions to enable real-time data collection, monitoring, and analytics across industrial operations . This role ensures the PI (Plant Information) System's reliability, scalability, and integration with enterprise systems to support data-driven decision-making and operational excellence. By leveraging expertise in Aveva PI technologies time series database, the role drives digital transformation initiatives, enhances asset performance, and enables predictive insights for improved business outcomes.
**Experience with Technologies like Avena PI will also be considered**
The role also enables the individual to learn and support other OT systems such as (SCADA, MDMS, HES, Power BI, Octoplant etc)
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the ongoing operation and reliability of the total historian system, including integrations.
- Provide technical leadership in the use of Historian systems, including training of end users, support for systems administration.
- Support and deliver integration of Historian systems and services with other business systems.
- Responsible for Historian system reliability during the business and after hours including the development of necessary people/processes and disaster recovery plans for appropriate after hours support mechanisms utilising internal and external resources.
- To provide support for OT Systems including SCADA, IoT Device Management Platform, Octaplant and Historian. These systems are essential for the operation of Water, Sewer and Treatment Plant sites and for the monitoring alarms that maintain customer service and environmental impacts.
- Support of Operational Historian platform, ensuring quality of data and asset frameworks, and supporting business users to develop queries and reports.
- Engage stakeholders, capture the requirements, sequence priorities, design and deliver apt solutions.
- Stay updated with latest product capabilities, industry trends and identify productivity opportunities and efficacies gains.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, IT, and other stakeholders to align PI System capabilities with business needs
- Create and maintain AF models to organize data efficiently
- Develop dashboards and visualizations using PI Vision or similar tools to support decision-making.
- Design and configure PI System components, including PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework (AF), PI Vision, and PI Interfaces.
- Strong experience in producing analytical reports with multi data source overlay.
- Maintain, upgrade PI system in line with vendor support and cyber security patching.
- Available to perform Afterhours upgrade, releases and critical support as required.
Experience needed:
- Strong Experience and understanding in Operational Historian platforms, such as Aveva OSI PI Historian.
- Understanding in SCADA systems desired, including Aveva EcoStruxures GeoSCADA Expert (ClearSCADA).
- Strong scripting knowledge in Visual Basic, JavaScript, Python required.
- Understanding of Application Integration technology such as Mulesoft and relevant scripting knowledge desirable.
- Understanding of IoT technology and sensors is required (digital water meter and pressure sensor experience desirable).
- Broad knowledge of industrial control systems, communications, and IoT technologies.
- Experience in programming, data management, database administration is desired.
- Good Experience in Developing Proactive and preventative analytics dashboards and reports
- Understanding of cybersecurity standards and requirements in an Operational Technology environment.
- Understanding of OHS law, obligations and regulations.
