IPAA Victoria (IPAA) is the peak professional association for the public purpose sector, encompassing the Victorian Public Service, the Australian Public Service based in Victoria, local governments, universities and the not-for-profit sector. The public purpose sector plays a critical role in delivering for Victorian communities and IPAA Victoria supports this work by providing platforms for professionals and organisations to connect, collaborate, learn and problem-solve.

The organisation engages with diverse stakeholders across the sector, co-designing programs, content and events that address emerging challenges and professional development needs. They build capability through market-leading professional development programs and events, provide thought leadership through expert insights and foster connections through communities of practice, mentoring and leadership networks.


About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Learning & Development, the Leadership Program Lead plans and deliver initiatives and professional development content that support the organisation’s strategic objectives. This role will contribute to thought-leadership activities, including in-person events, webinars, podcasts, videos and articles, ensuring alignment with emerging trends and sector needs.

The Leadership Program Lead will work closely with the Member Engagement Team to align corporate partner programs with partnership agreements and collaborate with the Events team to ensure effective and efficient event management.

Key Responsibilities

Program Design & Development:

  • Contribute to a 12-month rolling program of thought-leadership activities, ensuring they are responsive, flexible, and aligned with member and partner needs.

  • Identify and engage expert speakers and facilitators for events and content creation.

  • Provide briefings to the Marketing and Communications team to develop online content derived from partner and professional development events.

Program Administration:

  • Coordinate venue logistics in collaboration with the Events team.

  • Manage program registrations and confirmations.

  • Maintain up-to-date CRM, booking, and event management data.

  • Monitor program progress and provide standard reporting on participation and scheduling.

Program Delivery:

  • Liaise with speakers and facilitators, ensuring thorough event/activity briefings.

  • Work closely with the Learning & Development Coordinator to address program challenges.

  • Oversee post-event activities, including feedback collection and data updates.

  • Provide support to the Events team as required.


About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in designing and delivering professional development programs, events, or content.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build credible relationships across sectors.

  • Excellent program coordination and administration skills.

  • The ability to identify emerging trends and facilitate thought-leadership initiatives.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly in working with internal teams and external partners.

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Event Management or equivalent discipline; or substantial equivalent experience.

  • Tertiary degree in business, public policy, marketing, event management, or equivalent discipline (desirable).
