About the Opportunity

As part of an ongoing strategic transformation with focus on continued future success, this rare opportunity to create a greenfield procurement function has been identified. Reporting to the CFO, this newly created position of Group Manager Procurement Australia, will be responsible for the drafting and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives and category plans working across the Australian Group, whilst collaborating with key stakeholders to support procurement activities for both direct and indirect categories. Understanding the supplier landscape, identifying categories of spend and establishing a vendor contracts and performance framework to create value and showcase procurement best practice as part of an engaging, procurement business partnering approach will be key to success. This role will create value by generating measurable cost savings and demonstrable pricing wins, maintaining quality, obviating risk, whilst ensuring optimal policy and governance considerations deliver on the Group’s commitment to ESG ethics, sustainability and social procurement matters across the supply chain.

Is this You?

The successful candidate will demonstrate a track-record of success in building a centralized procurement team and interfacing collaboratively and constructively with stakeholders to showcase the benefits of a customer-centric and commercially adept procurement function. In addition to a first-class, dynamic approach to deliver financial wins, leveraging fact-based insights and analysis to support category strategies and sourcing wins, you will be an authentic, approachable and engaging communicator at ease dealing with a wide-ranging audience. As a leader, you will be required to be hands-on, whilst strategic and adept at influencing and securing positive outcomes that perpetuate the success and positive reputation of the procurement function.

Candidates from a manufacturing, industrial, construction or building materials and supplies background would be highly regarded.
