About the Role:
In this pivotal role, you will be integral to shaping our financial landscape. You will not only ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting but also play a vital part in driving our strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reports to drive business success.
- Collaborate with mine site operations and the corporate office to provide accounting support.
- Manage journal entries, including month-end tasks for prepayments, IFRS16 leases, royalties, and stock valuations.
- Oversee fixed asset capitalisations, disposals, transfers, and impairments.
- Assist with depreciation calculations and asset lifespan reviews.
- Handle coal sales accounting, including invoicing, receipting, and accruals.
- Maintain joint venture participant ledgers through reconciliations.
- Prepare joint venture reports and liaise with legal and finance teams for participant queries.
- Complete statutory note disclosures and supporting schedules for reporting.
- Calculate coal royalties and manage diesel fuel rebate claims.
- Support the preparation of annual financial statements and solvency statements.
About You:
- CA/CPA qualification
- Big 4 Background
- Has a proven track record in financial accounting (mining or energy sector experience is a bonus!).
- Knows IFRS16 like the back of your hand.
- Is detail-oriented and passionate about keeping financial records in tip-top shape.
- Can navigate complex accounting systems with ease.
- Communicates like a pro and thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Is ready to take on multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced world.
