About the Company

Davidson is working with a state government client who is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist.

About the Role

As an experienced Procurement Specialist, you will be required to work within a procurement team with significant procurement activities across general goods and services.

  • Manage procurement activities liaising with project Procurement functions as required
  • Provide expert procurement advice in line with the departments Procurement policy and guidelines for complex procurement activities.
  • Provide expert advice on current Queensland State procurement and contract framework documents.
  • Lead, manage and deliver procurement requirements as directed by Project teams, by coordinating with relevant stakeholders; which will often require the resource to write the planning and invitation documents
  • Deliver hands-on procurement activities including preparing and developing compliant, clear, and concise procurement documentation for complex activities.
  • Identify and track to resolution of key risks related to procurement activities by facilitating appropriate input from other stakeholders including probity, legal, technical and commercial specialists. Implement appropriate measures to identify risks on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure effective confidentiality practices are in place. Engage with and assist multi-discipline evaluation/negotiation teams in complex negotiations, consulting and engaging with legal, financial and other parties as required.
  • Ensure effective supporting documentation for all procurement activities is captured and maintained
  • Develop, prepare and/or review performance reports, briefing notes and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.

About You

  • Must have experience working in a procurement specialist role.
  • Ideally, you will have experience supporting multiple concurrent procurement requisitions typically during a large program establishment/on-boarding or a significant organisational change activity.
  • Contemporary Procurement Methodologies and Frameworks such as Competitive Dialogue, Lean Agile Procurement and Interactive Procurement.
  • Minimum five year's procurement experience, preferable in the Government Sector
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills are a must, with the ability to develop templates, tools and Office automation to improve efficiencies

The Benefits

  • $85.31 to $91.38 per hour + Super
  • Contract up to August 2025
  • Brisbane, CBD
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
