About the Role
As the Principal HR Consultant, you will play a key role in providing high-level HR consultancy services, and this is your opportunity to make a real impact and build trusted relationships with the senior executives within the department.
As the lead HR advisor for Treasury’s senior executive cohort, you will deliver strategic HR advice and consultancy to Treasury leaders, offering authoritative guidance on complex workforce matters and support on contracts, and employment lifecycle activities. You will lead and support key HR projects, including policy reviews and workforce initiatives, and take charge of workforce management actions from Treasury’s Strategic Workforce Plan. Through your expertise, you will continuously enhance HR practices, contribute to leadership development, and influence organisational capability.
You will be given the autonomy to support the senior executives and contribute to high-level decision-making processes, all while continuing to develop your leadership and HR expertise. About You
You bring extensive experience in HR management, with a strong focus on executive services, with a developed skillset in the following areas:
- Deep HR expertise – Comprehensive HR management knowledge and experience with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strategic thinking – Ability to contribute to major HR projects and workforce initiatives.
- Strong communication skills – Confidence in providing high-level briefings and advice on complex HR matters, particularly around executive contracts and movements
- Relationship-building abilities – A collaborative approach to partnering across all levels within an organisation.
- Analytical mindset – Strong problem-solving skills, ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge, and identify emerging workforce trends.
- Attention to detail – Experience in preparing reports, contracts, and documents for an executive audience
